Privacy Policy

CLICK BAIT · Last updated 13 August 2026

This policy covers CLICK BAIT (the "Game"), published by Benjamin Adams ("we", "us"), across every store it ships on (Google Play, App Store, Steam, CrazyGames, itch.io, Reddit and the web), and this website, clickbait.win.

1. What we collect

The Game stores your run progress on your device. Where an online leaderboard is available, it is backed by Firebase Anonymous Authentication and Cloud Firestore, tied to a random identifier generated on your device — on Reddit, to your Reddit username instead. Where enabled for a given build, we use Firebase Analytics / Google Analytics to understand aggregate game usage (for example, which enemies are being fought, session length and crash reports). This website's static pages are hosted on Cloudflare, which processes standard connection logs (IP address, requested page) to serve the site and does not receive any other visitor data from us.

2. Advertising

Some builds of the Game show advertising: Google AdMob rewarded video (mobile) and, on the web build hosted at CrazyGames, ads served through the CrazyGames SDK. These networks may collect an advertising identifier and general device information under their own privacy policies to select and measure ads. You can remove ads with the optional in-app purchase described below, which does not disable analytics.

3. Purchases

The Game offers an optional "Remove Ads" purchase, processed by the store you bought it through (Google Play Billing, Apple's In-App Purchase, Steam, or CrazyGames' payment partner). We do not receive or store your payment details — only a receipt confirming the purchase completed.

4. Email and marketing

If you enter an email address for an in-game prize, we use it only to contact you about that prize. We do not use it for marketing unless you separately tick the optional "Email me CLICK BAIT news and offers" box. When you opt in, we store your email address, consent choice and consent timestamp in a private record, and use Resend to deliver marketing messages. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can withdraw consent in-game at any time by reopening the email field and clearing the checkbox.

5. Children's privacy

The Game is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them beyond the anonymous, on-device identifiers described above. Prize and marketing emails require the player to actively type an address; we do not knowingly collect email addresses from children.

6. Your choices

You can clear your prize email and marketing consent in the Game at any time, and can ask a store (Google Play, Apple, Steam, CrazyGames) to delete your purchase history under that store's own policy. To ask about data we hold, or to request deletion of a Firestore leaderboard entry, contact ben@clickbait.win.

7. Changes

We may update this policy when the Game, this website, or their data practices change. The current version is always available at this page, and material changes will update the date above.
